Today I finished my row for Nancy's row robin. Most of the pieced basket patterns I found were set on point, but would have made too large a row if I had added setting triangles to turn them so they were straight up. I found this pieced straight-set basket pattern at equilter.com. Because the basket itself came all the way to the edges of the block, I didn't think I would like putting 4 baskets together with no sashing in between - and mathematically, I was too challenged to try to change the size of this basket pattern, so had to go with the 12" finished block that the pattern instructions gave me. My solution was to use the Basketweave pattern from quilterscache.com, but not sew the 4 sew sections together to make one 12" finished block - instead I used the 4 rows as sashing for my blocks. If I can get my label made for Nancy, I'll be mailing this to Kristen tomorrow.
