Mason Andrew Martin

 Born May 1, 2014 at 5 p.m., 8 lbs. 7 oz., 20 inches long.  This baby quilt was my project at this year's Valley of the Sun Retreat.  It actually turned out somewhat on the large size, so he will be able to use it for a long time.  My niece, Jessica, asked for grey and white with accents of turquoise and a little orange - and she liked chevrons.  And she found some Spoonflower fabrics that she wanted incorporated into the finished quilt.  I used a chevron print for the back of the quilt, and decided to use the French braid pattern to give a chevron feel to the front as well.  My friend, Hilda Bakke, quilted and bound the top for me - she used Judy Lyon's owl pantograph to quilt it and it really is cute!
